GotAI — Call Forwarding: What You Need to Know
Hi [Customer],
You’ve already signed up and you’re on your 14-day free trial. The only thing left before GotAI starts working for you is enabling conditional call forwarding on your phone.
I know that sounds like a big step. Here’s everything you need to know before you do it.
What call forwarding actually does
Conditional call forwarding means: if you don’t answer, the call goes to GotAI instead of voicemail.
That’s it. It only kicks in when you don’t pick up — when you’re busy, on a job, unreachable, or the phone rings out. Calls you answer go to you as normal.
Your calls are not redirected to me (David). They go to a dedicated Irish phone number (+353 1 726 7959) operated by GotAI. I do not listen to your calls live. You receive a written summary — name, number, location, job type, urgency — by SMS and email after each call.
Nothing changes about how your phone works day-to-day.
How to turn it off
Dial **004*[your voicemail number]# on your phone and
press call. This restores your phone to exactly how it was before —
unanswered calls go back to your voicemail box. Takes ten seconds.
GotAI will send you the exact code for your number when you enable forwarding.
You can do this any time, for any reason, without contacting me.
What your callers will hear
When GotAI answers a missed call on your behalf, the caller hears something like:
“This call is answered by GotAI on behalf of [Business]. The call may be transcribed and summarised so [Business] can respond to your enquiry. If this is an emergency, please hang up and contact the appropriate emergency service. Otherwise, please go ahead.”
The caller then gives their name, number, location, and what they need. You get that summary straight away.
What GotAI asks your callers
For a [Trade], GotAI typically collects:
- Name and callback number
- Location (so you know if the job is worth the drive)
- What the problem is (locked out, broken key, etc.)
- Whether it’s a house, flat, car, or office
- How urgent it is
- Any useful access details
That’s all. GotAI does not ask for payment details, insurance information, or anything sensitive.
