1 What GotAI does

What GotAI does (and What GotAI does not do)

GotAI is a phone answering service for Irish tradespeople. When you miss a call because you are on a job, driving, or with a customer, GotAI answers and collects the caller's details so you can call them back.

GotAI does

  • Answer calls you miss
  • Take the caller's name, number, and job details
  • Send you the summary by text and email
  • Disclose it is an AI assistant (never pretends to be human)
  • Let you switch it off anytime

GotAI does not

  • Quote prices to your callers
  • Give advice or make decisions
  • Replace your phone or your carrier
  • Answer emergency lines (999/112)
  • Handle regulated advice (legal, medical, financial)
2 Your phone still rings first

Your phone rings first. Always.

This is the part that matters most. GotAI does not replace your phone. Your phone rings exactly as it always does. GotAI only steps in when you do not answer.

If you pick up, GotAI is never involved. The caller talks to you directly, same as always.

This uses conditional call forwarding. Your carrier only sends the call to GotAI when: you don't answer (rings out), you are already on a call (busy), or your phone is switched off (unreachable).

3 How to switch GotAI on

GotAI sends you a customer-specific activation SMS after setup. That message contains the forwarding code for your GotAI number.

Activation steps Use the code in your Activation SMS

Open the SMS on the business phone, dial the complete activation code on that phone's keypad, and press Call. Wait for your carrier's confirmation.

Then test it: call the business number from another phone, let it ring without answering, and confirm GotAI answers. If it does not, contact GotAI rather than assuming forwarding is active.

Forwarding codes and carrier behaviour can differ. Use the code GotAI sends for your configured number; do not copy another customer's code.

4 How to switch GotAI off

You are always in control. If you want to turn forwarding off and go back to your normal voicemail, dial this code on your phone:

6 Privacy and data

What we collect, and nothing more

  • Collected: caller name, phone number, location, job type, urgency, and the call summary.
  • Recording: calls may be recorded or transcribed to produce your summary. The caller is told at the start.
  • No sensitive data: GotAI does not collect special-category data unless you agree in writing.
  • Your role: you are the data controller. GotAI acts as processor on your behalf.
